Oh, the charm and sweetness of a woolly pink deer! We are completely smitten with this darling creature, and wanted to create for her a sparkly, sentimental forest habitat.
This kit has the look of a vintage, timeworn treasure. Featuring pieces of metallic lace, hand cut and stitched to layers of felt, ruffled flowers of velvet and rayon, glass beads, and mother of pearl buttons dyed in our studio to a lovely pink shade. A silk ribbon bow perched on a rhinestone buckle and Swarovski crystals create the finishing touches.
Your purchase will include all items mentioned above. The base piece of ivory wool felt will fit a 16" x 20" frame. (We will provide a link to the frame we used.)
***The sample shown has had the background felt cut down from the 16" x 20" to allow for a piece of linen around the edges, creating a border. Because we are not able to obtain fabric from our linen supplier at the moment, this piece is not included in the kit. You can frame as-is, with no border, for an equally beautiful look. You could also create a pillow, or even simply hang from a dowel.
You will also need embroidery floss. We used DMC metallic, in both silver and gold, but you can use any color you prefer. (2-3 skeins total.) Here is a link to the floss we used from Joann Fabrics. They can ship it to you, and they also offer curbside pickup at most locations. Don't forget to look for a coupon!
We will begin shipping kits on May 4th. Tutorial will be emailed to the account provided at purchase. Be sure this email address is one that you check frequently. Because of the nature of the materials, quantity of kits is limited.
You must be able to embroider simple stitches, such as blanket stitch, pick stitch, and back stitch. The process is simple, yet it is time consuming to achieve the desired effect. Perfect as a Spring/Summer project, and sure to become a treasured heirloom!
